ABOUT eMe :

Brand eMe contains handmade interior objects and jewellery pieces, made of heat-treated plastic bags, carefully and well-thought transformed into solid incredible forms, unusual jewellery pieces, which are sometimes work also as sculptures from another planet.

Abandoned plastic bag as a symbol of mass consumerism,is our main material to explore on and on. Trought the mechanical and termical process  it's sometimes dificult to control the matter completly, so every transformation to final designed piece is a big challenge and well thought creation. New forms and textures gain aestetic value of design and give new functional meaning of (usage) recycled plastic bags. Pieces reflect originality and good crafting skills required in entire creative process. Besides aestetic note, is very considerable factor -functionality of design.

Vast influence to the present work are natural forms and textures. We also draw inspiration from our surrounding , everyday things, human relations, society problems, stories and cultural heritage... Sometimes we first create texture, which has then important impact on forms of whole collection..

 

-In May 2015 eMe partcipated at: AUTOR 13 International Contemporary Jewelry Fair in Romania and won a ASSAMBLAGE AWARD 2015 

-in Autum 2015 eMe exhibited at : VI Medunarodna izložba “Umetnost u minijaturi MajdanArt Serbia 2015”  

 

DESIGNERS:

Mea Batis was born 1981 in Postojna. After Secondary  School of  Design and Photography,  she attendet Textile and Fashion design Department at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering. In 2014 she had her Master degree from there. 

Her work (jewellery, textile design, film, photography,...) has been exhibited in 12 solo and many group exhibitions.

She currently creates under brand eMe ( which was MA degree project ) with her collegue Nuša Bernot.

 

Nuša Bernot was born 1987 in Ljubljana. After Secondary school of design, she attendet Textile and Fashion design department at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering. There she earned MA degree in 2014. 

She 's very into redesign everything around her, from clothes, textile to furniture. She loves photography, drawing and sewing,and textile pattern.design. With her work she participated in several fashion shows and art exhibitions in Slovenia and one internatinal in Croatia.

She currently works with her collegue Mea Batis on their brand eMe.
